Â鶹´«Ã½ Students Enjoy Downtown Discounts, Pep Rally, and Tailgate on Home Football Weekends

Blaze enjoys spending time on game day at Â鶹´«Ã½'s Student Tailgate.

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Home football game weekends this fall will be full of free food and fun for Valdosta State University students. The activities are not just on game day, but on the Friday before too.

Fire it Up Friday: Students can head to Converse Square by the Student Union for a pep rally featuring some members of the Â鶹´«Ã½ football team, the Red Hots, the Â鶹´«Ã½ Cheerleaders, and the Blazin’ Brigade.

Blazers Downtown: Every Friday before a home game, businesses in Downtown Valdosta will be offering discounts to students who present their Â鶹´«Ã½ ID. The hours for the discount are 6 – 10 p.m. and transit stops downtown will allow students to be transported to and from downtown back to Â鶹´«Ã½’s campus.

Student Tailgate: Students can come and tailgate for free with their Â鶹´«Ã½ ID. The tailgate is held four hours before each home game at the UC Grass Lot. It’s on the corner of Slate Street and Brookwood.
